Our Cactus and Succulent Blend potting mix includes coir, perlite, pumice, sand, and stalite. This fluffy and free draining mix made with coir is ideal for succulents, cactus and epiphylliums. Pumice rock and stalite combine to provide the drainage that these plants demand. We recommend this mix for plumeria as well. This mix is also good for Christmas Cactus! Feel free to contact us if you are unsure which Potting Mix is right for your plants. This mix is distinguished by what it doesn't have in it, peat moss. We make this mix with Coir which is ground coconut husk and the absence of peat is key to getting rid of fungus gnats. Fungus gnats are attracted to peat moss, and almost all commercially available plant mixes are made with peat moss. This coir based mix has no peat and the coir we use is a bit more costly, but it is also more durable, resistant to fungus (and the gnats), and is a wonderful free draining mix for prized houseplants and tropicals. Note: In general, one quart of potting mix fills a six inch wide pot, two four inch pots, or half of an eight inch pot with no plant in it.
