Failing to properly seat the rubber seal of the coupler and cut off the excess jack clip will result in a leaky connection. Water will enter not only the connector but also your Ethernet cable. If it is used in corrosive soil and moisture, the shell will be more susceptible to corrosion. Please note that IP65 is not resistant to immersion, so DO NOT IMMERSE the connector in water.
